Inspired by the Korean beauty scene's emphasis on good and clear skin, OMO! White is a line of whitening products that also double as skincare must-haves. Initially focusing on 5 kinds of whitening soaps each targeting a particular skin concern, OMO! White continues to expand its product line with the goal of helping you shine your brightest.
While we all have varying standards of beauty, we all share similar standards for beauty products. Skincare, in particular, should not only be effective but also safe to use. Scientifically proven, but not intimidating. Professional, but never boring. For a new brand, it's important to stand out in more ways than one—and this is how we used strategy and design to create OMO! White.
Choosing a name that reflected the Korean beauty culture was critical in communicating the brand's adherence to the Korean standard of clear, healthy skin. We decided on the name OMO! White, a catchy combination of the Korean slang for "Oh my gosh!" and the key benefit the product provides. The way we see it, the brand's name reflects the very effect the products have: the ability to amaze people with a bright and blooming glow. This is also reflected in the character illustrations we created for the brand.
The brand's personality came naturally. Inspired by the colorful world of Korean pop culture, OMO! White is welcomely bright and refreshingly friendly, a perfect fit for its young and young-at-heart market. This is made evident by our choice of colors, typefaces, and tone for the copy.
As a skincare brand, credibility and professionalism are also key factors that have to be communicated in the design. To do this, we juxtaposed the bright colors and cute icons on the packaging with a simple yet informative layout that ensures customers can easily choose the best for them—bright, blooming skin that caters to their specific skin concerns.
OMO! White continues to create new standards in the country's longstanding whitening industry, constantly challenging experienced players with their innovative products and stand-out design. OMO! White is also making waves in other markets and is currently available in Sri Lanka and Dubai.
