OVERVIEW
Bibingkinitan is a homegrown brand from the Philippines offering bite-sized bibingka everyday. Bibingka commonly refers to a type of rice cake that is traditionally made from fermented sticky rice, coconut milk, water, and sugar, and is lined with banana leaves. Bibingkinitan revolutionized this category by making bite-sized portions. The brand is a first mover and an innovator—the country’s biggest and leading bibingka chain—proven by its 200+ stores nationwide.
When it comes to redesigning well-loved brands, we make sure to understand the audience and market as well as the company’s vision. The challenge was to refresh the brand of Bibingkinitan to be more consistent, contemporary while retaining what people loved about it—the colors, the circular pendant, and the Filipino visual cues.
The logo design took inspiration from Old Manila typography, giving the brand a contemporary look with a nostalgic and familiar feel. This era’s vivid memories and distinctive heritage balance out the innovation and modernity that Bibingkinitan proudly stands for.
The shorthand seals allows to abbreviate the logo and associate Bibingkinitan with a shorter and a more contemporary alternative name — BBK. Not only does a shorter name effects easy recall, but also its progressive attitude and courage signify tradition shifting to present context.
